Stila recently introduced their new Color Balm Lipsticks,
which are available in 17 different shades ranging from neutral to bold. Referring
to these lipsticks, Stila’s website says, “A modern take on traditional
lipstick, this creamy lip color provides the full pigment load of a lipstick,
yet delivers the nourishing properties of a balm.” Though I never seem to mention
much from Stila, I have always liked the brand and almost everything I have
tried, I love. Since I really love the balm-lipstick idea, and I having been
desperately seeking something to replace the Revlon Lip Butters, Stila’s new
Color Balm Lipstick sounds perfect!
I must say, I was somewhat skeptical that these lipsticks would be both pigmented and hydrating, but I was proven wrong! The Color Balm Lipsticks have a satin finish and they are very pigmented. I picked up “Amelia” and it is a beautiful bright punch of pink. The color lasts an incredibly long time, especially compared to other balm-style lipsticks. And, like other balm-style lipsticks, it is incredibly comfortable on the lips! It really does feel like you’ve just applied lip balm! It is infused with peppermint oil, so there is a definite minty taste and tingle to the lipstick. It glides on beautifully, though I wouldn't call it "buttery", and it leaves behind beautiful, hydrating color. The creamy color applies evenly and boldly even with only one pass. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, unlike other balm lipsticks, Stila’s Color Balm Lipstick lasts for hours! It’s almost like the color fuses with your lips! I must say, I love the Stila Color Balm Lipstick!
Stila’s Color Balm Lipstick retails for $22.00 and is
available in 17 shades from Ulta, Sephora and Stila’s website.

These look almost identical to the revlon lip butters! Lovely colours :) x
ReplyDeleteThey look quite similar, but the Stila version is not as "buttery" if that makes sense! :) It's still incredibly comfortable and actually feels better than Revlon's in my opinion. And I think it stays put better as well! The pigmentation is really incredible too. It's basically the same as a standard lipstick, but in a more moisturizing formula. And the Stila colors are nice and on-trend too! If only the price tag were closer to Revlon's.... :)
DeleteSuch a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteThey have a lot of colors that are really beautiful - and some that are quite unsual! If only they were less expensive! :)
DeleteI'd love to try these out, although I do wish they were less expensive. A few years ago, MAC had these lipsticks called Slimshines and it sounds like these are similar. I've yet to find a great replacement for them, so perhaps this is it :)
ReplyDeleteI never tried a slimshine before, but I think I've swatched them and they probably are similar if I'm thinking of the same thing. :) I wish the Stila ones were less expensive too. I don't like spending a fortune on lip colors because I like to have a wide selection, but it seems all of the brands I like lately are pricey :/ Stila's ARE really nice though!
DeleteThese sound amazing- just had a look at the ingredients listed on their website and the appear to be vegan too! I may be adding this to my wishlist, I love nothing more than a balm-like lippy!
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing that they appear to be vegan too! It's so hard to find vegan lip products!
DeleteLet us know if they work for you if you try one out! I'd love to know! :)
great review. I have a couple of these too and really love them. I will probably get more. Isla is a great nude thats perfect for my light makeup days. I think these are better than other lip butter types I've tried because they are more lipstick like with some added moisture rather than just being a tinted lip balm. glad you like these too!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like them too! They're really nice! I have 3 of them now and really want to get some more!
DeleteI was debating about Isla for a long time! It's one of the many on my wish list. :)
I agree that they are much more lipstick-like in terms of pigmentation, but without being drying or feeling like lipstick.
