Favorites - December 2012 Edition

December is over, which means it's time for a favorites post! So what were my favorites this month?

With all of the nail abuse I subjected myself to in December, I found a definite need for some nourishment for my cuticles. I had a lot of trouble remembering to use it, but I found Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream quite helpful...when I remembered. It softened the skin around my nails and helped with the dry hangnails that appeared as the month wore on. I prefer using a brush-on product, but this was quite softening and I think it softened my skin faster than an oil, so I am willing to deal with a buttery product all over my fingers!

Continuing with nails, I went back to using my Zoya Remove + Polish Remover this month after a few months of just using whatever was easiest to grab. I was reminded of what a difference this stuff makes! The polish came off quicker and my nails were much cleaner even after removing a very dark polish. My nails seemed to stay in the same, or better, condition than they started as well. Definitely the best polish remover I have tried!

I haven't been too concerned with my face, but I have worn the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer quite a bit, just for a hint of coverage. I initially received a sample with my Sephora VIB points, and I loved the finish so much that I bought a full size in the correct shade. I am actually the lightest shade, Finland.

I've used my Tarte Smart Mascara almost exclusively this month. I really like it and haven't found anything that I seem to use as regularly.

Sticking with Tarte, I've been in love with my C-Brighter Eye Cream! My eyes have not had even a hint of dryness since I started using it. I love it! It is not greasy or heavy, but it is still wonderfully hydrating and softening. Perfect!

Finally, I actually just tried Bonnie Bell's Lip Smackers for the first time this month! How did I miss these as a kid? I remember them, but I have no recollection of ever using them! This month I picked up the Girl Scouts Party Pack because I was feeling sad that I missed cookie season yet again. I've only tried the "Coconut Caramel Stripes" so far and I really like it! My lips feel soft and hydrated without being greasy. I wouldn't say it tastes just like the cookie, but it's a pleasant taste, albeit a strange one for a lip balm - at least to me. But I've finally discovered the addictiveness of these Lip Smackers and I want every flavor now! At least they're affordable!

That's going to do it for my favorites this month. I've kept it simple with all the hustle and bustle of Christmas and adding another kitten - can I just add that kittens are exhausting! It's been about 4 years since my last babies were born in my closet - yes, they really were born in my closet - and I do not remember being this tired from trying to keep up with them...and there were two of them! Maybe this kitty is more active; I don't know. Anyway, those are my December favorites for 2012!

What were some must haves for you this last month? How 'bout the past year? I'd love to know, so please leave comments! I love hearing from you guys! :)

  2. I love the cuticle cream too, it's one of the best I've tried. If you prefer to have a brush applicator, you should try the Herôme Miracle Pen, works heavenly too! x

  3. I absolutely adore the Zoya Remove & actually am working on my 2nd bottle, which never happens as I don't finish anything. :) I have the cuticle cream, but like you, can't seem to remember to use it! I have a post on my newest favorite products if you'd like to check it out, I'd really love that! Thank you!

    1. I'm terrible at getting into the habit of using a new addition and, at least for me, cuticle cream is not part of my daily routine. I'm guessing it should be though! :)

  4. Love all of them except Burt's Bees. They do crush animals. Not quite animal friendly!

    1. What do you mean by Burt's Bees "crushing" animals? As far as I am aware, though their parent company DOES test on animals, Burt's Bees itself does not and never has. If I'm mistaken, please let me know!!! :)

    1. I'm sure you could get away with tinted moisturizer! You're beautiful just the way you are and a little redness or dark circles or scars or whatever you're biggest complaint is can't change that! :) My skin's not too great most of the time and I really do need foundation and concealer to hide all the red spots, but I don't always bother with it. We all have imperfections and that's part of what makes each one of us beautiful!

  6. I love Remove Plus! I haven't tried the cuticle butter but I might have to pick some up, my cuticles are so dry right now.

    1. The cuticle butter works pretty well, and it works right away so I'd definitely give it a try! I just always seem to end up with cat hairs in mine and it always looks gross! :)
